Some might feel that the money is best spent on roads and bridges as they see the deterioration of these elements as more directly aligned with commerce. Promoting Biogas in European Regions

Biogas is increasingly being used across Europe, but significant hindrances still stand in the way of the promotion of this important renewable energy carrier in many countries. The 2009 California Green Innovation Index is a brand new report produced by Next 10 and authored by Collaborative Economics. The Index provides a deep analysis of key economic and environmental indicators that will help us better understand the role green innovation plays in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening the economy.

Research included in this 2009 Green Innovation Index provides further evidence of the powerful economic stimulus clean energy policy can provide. California’s energy productivity, that is, the amount of Gross Domestic Product produced per unit of energy, is 68% more productive than the rest of the nation.

V1 Energy emerged as a result of our previous publishing activity which often involved the topic of energy from the infrastructure and building side of the equation. Discussions were often oriented around the theme of energy, particularly in terms of efficiency and planning processes.

The development of new technologies and approaches has grown through increased innovation to meet the challenges of continued energy supply and efficiency. Wind, solar, wave, gasification, hybrid energy and other energy forms are supplementing oil and gas, coal and nuclear forms of energy.

Green Paper "Towards a Secure, Sustainable and Competitive European Energy Network"

Across the EU, there is a need for massive investments in new energy networks. The energy supplies we rely on for our everyday lives depend on complex and often costly infrastructure projects. Such projects are needed for a wide range of reasons: to maintain today's networks, to make new networks which can transport alternative forms of energy, such as renewable energy, to link up different parts of the EU so that they can share a larger pool of energy resources, to make it possible for local communities or even single households to contribute electricity to the grid and to improve the import and transmission networks for oil and gas. The Green Paper includes a number of examples of major EU network projects which the EU could promote.
